There are people who come into your life and change it forever, and for me, Rainy did exactly that. She created the Short Bus Family, a community that became a lifeline for
so many of us, including me. During one of the darkest seasons of my life, Rainy and the Short Bus Family quite literally saved my life. When I felt lost and alone, they
surrounded me with love, support, hope, and reminded me that I wasn’t fighting alone. It was Rainy who introduced the Short Bus Family to Helping Hand, and watching these two
incredible communities come together has been nothing short of amazing. Both share the same heart, to love people, lift them up, and make a real difference in the lives of others.
Seeing that partnership grow has been inspiring, and I know it will continue to change lives just as it changed mine. I also want to recognize the Helping Hand team for the
incredible support they gave Rainy while she was helping me through that difficult time. I will be forever grateful for the compassion, encouragement, and kindness they showed.
